Need advice for new CPU WC block

I'm building a new rig and wondering what water block to go with. On my old one I have a danger den RBX. Getting a core 2 duo conroe. I have a MCP pump blue one forget which model and a 120mm radiator that fits perfectly in my p160 case. I believe I have 1/2" ID tubing.

As of right now I was planning on going with Swiftech Apogee GT which is $50, from newegg.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

d-tek fusion from www.shoppts.com

it less restrictive, and upgrade friendly.

meaning, if you ever wanted to drop a gpu, non full cover block, on your loop, the block would allow it because its less restrictive with your D4 pump.

EDIT: i need to know your radiator size. is it a 120x2? or a 120x1? it might be better to swap out your radiator and keep the RDX, or even better swap both of them out if your radiator is small. I can help you on ideas on how to externally mount it if your patient and you have a drill. Or you can mount it internally if you have a hole saw and you dont mind losing one of your top bays.

Blue swiftech pump, im guessing circluar, and not square = liang D4 pump.

If your budget is set, that GT will perform very nicely, just make sure you orientated it properly. Make suer the barbs are verticle and not horizontal on a C2D chip.

O
O not O O

thanks for the help

I only plan on water cooling the CPU, radiator is 120x1
If you know the p160 case it's attached right to the fan inside the case. I don't want to get a different radiator I like this setup.

The pump is actually swiftech mcp600 I believe....I know it looks just like that might be dif #.

I was thinking of this block though - swiftech storm

only 5 bucks more looks more efficient.

so which one now?

Another vote for the D-Tek Fusion. After reading a ton of comparisons I decided to go with that over the Apogee GT because of the less restrictive design. Any of the top blocks won't be more than a couple degrees different. I'd go with the one with the least restriction.

thats very true. however, if your BOW it, your in a different ball game.

And also if your running a quad, the D-tek wont perform as well as the GTX. Look at the waterflow area compared to the D-tek and you'll understand why.

In your case, i would go with the D-tek because your going to need the low pressure fast flow requirements. Your radiator is small so you need to make up for it with either faster fans, and faster moving water.
