But if you're not going to do it now, you're probably not going to do it even when you upgrade.

Yes, good point. I may settle with not overclocking then. but I do think now is the right time to try overclocking, it may become necessary sometime though. but well, I really need guidance on this one. maybe the reason behind your statement is that people think they will overclock but they really wouldn't and would settle with the stock speeds. I still can't make up my mind. haha.

Personally I like to OC my CPU so that I don't need to fiddle with the settings too much, and I don't want too much heat generation because I want to keep the PC quiet. I'm not by any means a hardcore overclocker, I'm a practical overclocker.

On Ivy Bridge, that means a 4.2GHz OC without any voltage adjustments, using a cheap Z77 board and a $20-30 aftermarket cooler. You get pretty much the same MHz per dollar as without overclocking; it's when you start pushing the OC with higher voltages that you have to spend much more on the motherboard and cooling. It's really up to you, just know that doing a small OC is not a feat that requires much in the way of knowledge, experience or effort.

I'm back and with updates on the store, they already have haswell cpus but I don't think there's a cheaper mobo that supports the haswell. anyway here's the link (still have to download the pdf file) :https://www.yousendit.com/dl?phi_ac..._download%26batch_id%3DWFJXRm94ZEsxUUE5WThUQw

The i5 4570 is cheaper than the 3570 but I don't know which cpu performs better, I think the 3570 still performs slightly better but please do still help me with this. Also, I've finally decided not to overclock.

I also have question about the memory, most gaming builds I've seen have the 1600 instead of the 1333, I was considering the kingston hyper x 8gb (2x4) memory. Is it okay?

The 4570 will properly be around equal to the 3570K at stock. For the successor to the 3570K, you'll have to look at the 4670(K). If you don't overclock, a cheap B85 mainboard would perhaps be a good starting place...

thanks, but unfortunately the shop doesn't have the 4670 and a cheap b85 mainboard yet. and in my case time is running out because I will be finally building it this weekend and I think there will be no new stocks 2 days from now but I'll still check it from time to time if ever there will be new stocks. Just in case nothing new will be out when I'll buy the parts, then I'll go with the ivy bridge, at this point of time, is it still ok going with the ivy bridge? or am I gonna miss out with whatever advantages the haswell have?
