Need advice for friend seeking work in Consulting industry

She recently had a 4 hour interview at a major consulting firm. The verdict? She's intelligent but lacks interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence. She's to return for a 3 day trial case and she wants to know how to improve the aforementioned weaknesses. Knowing my way around manipulating people I've given her some advice but I think the advice of others would be more helpful. Do you'll have any opinion?

Also, she wants to buy a series of transcripts and mp3s called Look Over My Shoulder by Victor Cheng. Anyone here ever used it and, if so, how was it? At $300 it isn't cheap for someone leaving school.
 
Consulting is one of those careers where you need to have the right soft skills and all the hard skills in the world will only do so much. Btw, this is consulting in what field?

All I know is that she's applying to one of the major firms. Not sure which field.
