Need Advice - Building Computer

I don't know why but the graphite mid tower from corsair looks decent with the lighting. Just my opinion

the 230t? It seems to fit the basics of what to look for, the cutouts arent rubber but they are rolled meaning there is no sharp edges, Depending on the water system it looks like you can mount a smaller rad to the back or larger one to the top. It has the PSU mount at the bottom. If you like the look there you go. Good choice.

Are you 100% certain about that CPU? Its fine if you are just that you need to pick your C{U and Motherboard so you can pick your water cooler. I was reading reviews on that case and I dont think it can fit a large radiator. So you might need to adjust either the water cooler or pick a different case depending on what size WC you go with.

looking intp it the best corsair I could find was http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181060&cm_re=h105-_-35-181-060-_-Product. You might have to scrap the case and go with something that can mount a 270mm rad. I dont think the graphite has it.

The 230T with the Side Panel and Red Lights http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139026 will likely fit the 120mm fan for the radiator. Think you can remove the built in fan by removing the screws via screwdriver.

And one update to the computer: This will be used by the family. My dad will need to run some office things like connecting to a Windows Server and some other things. The other members of family will use the computer for some not-too-demanding things

Get a piece of wood or something to get that case up off the carpet. Many cases are designed to pull air from the bottom of the case, and most PSU's are oriented that way as well... you need to have the bottom of the case clear so air can be drawn in.

Both are really solid manufactures. So go with whoever has the best deal on their cards. At the moment have an evga PSU and GPU. I didnt think of it at the time or I prob would have went the same on the MB just to keep it uniform. But I went for the best deals at the time.

It was a good thing you didn't go with an EVGA motherboard, they aren't great. EVGA is just too small of a company with too many different products to properly support their motherboards.

Also listen to Mfenn He can help save you some $. Im surprised he hasnt suggested better options.

I spent a couple hours last night researching corsair water coolers and those two you linked didnt gat good temps compared to even a air cooler like the sycthe mugen or katana. We are talking between 1-5 degree difference. Even with the H105 you are looking at around 5-8 degree difference max.

I understand you want to OC but the computer I built is almost silent even under load. The one you are wanting to build is going to be very loud and not that much more efficient.

The Fractal R4 has sound dampening foam inside so you put your fans where you ant and then seal up the rest. I can barely hear my machine standing next to it.

I dont think you would miss staying at stock with the CPU, Getting a GTX970 and a CPU block fan putting it into a fractal case. If you are gaming where your PC is you will notice a huge difference. When you are trying to play a game like Alien Isolation and all you hear is your damn fans blowing its not only annoying its down right distracting and mood breaking. And higher games will be louder.

Like Charlie98 said make sure that whatever case you get it is not sitting on carpet

One more thing about posting, instead of making 5-6 little posts use the edit feature, im surprised no one has said anything yet but you shouldnt really be multi posting, it could get you a warning from a MOD.

Well, over clocking is not a must, just something that i wanted to do. And i want to get a good case with lighting and all parts set up before the end of the month or so. Summer is the only time I'm actually getting to build the machine. Im sure the computer won't be as loud as my dad's "vintage" Windows 95 Computer. That thing sounded like a plane taking off like right next to you.

actully its pretty loud http://www.hearingaidknow.com/2007/03/how-loud-is-too-loud-decibel-levels-of-common-sounds/ you would have to raise your voice to hear over it. the h90 is around 40dba and the 105 can go up to 54.

Very Quiet probably silent in a case like the R4, cools great. you mount it facing and blowing to the rear and that way the intake on the front pushes cool air through the heatsink and together push out the back fan. Keep the top and side of the case closed and you will cool really well.

Hold off on the OC until you get to learn your PC and how everything works, Then you can save up and actually build a nice water cooler if you want.

That gives you the lights you want with a noise level that is low. Not as nice as the stock fans but thats a sacrafice you have to decide if you want to make.
