Need advice about the Dell UltraSharp 2007WFP

I'm able to pick up a new monitor soon (I got a bit, 19'' CRT clunker on my desk right now) and looking at the dell outlet, the price for it is fantastic with free shipping. Now, as per my computer, i have a X800XL and I'm a big gamer. This is what worries me, i know that the X800XL is weak by todays standards and the 1680x1050 will push it hard.

I have been on these boards for a nice long while (don't post much tho, and I've heard nothing but good about the monitor.

With my situation (I cant upgrade my video card for a while) would it be worth it? Thats whats bugging me. Also, has anybody had any experience with monitors from the dell outlet? What I mean is are they safe enough to order with confidence?

For the resolution, is your 19" CRT capable of 1600x1200? If you can game at that res, that should be a good indication of the 2007wfp native res performance.

Hmm, its hard to play at that res with current and future games . One of the major cons I should have mentioned would be losing a CRT's scalability. I heard that the monitor could run 1:1 on a non native resolution, does that mean, for like 1024x768 it would have black bars on either side?
