I am looking for a FREE screen capture program. I tried hyper something but it had that annoying banner at the top saying i had to buy their program to get it off.

Thanks
Aaron

Hold the alt key and hit print screen, should take a screenshot of the active window.

If it is for work, why not buy the software you need and charge it to their account?

I do not understand this question. Why would you want to take a screenshot of the windows background when the windows background is already a picture on your hdd? Just goto \windows and it will be in there somewhere, most likely a .bmp format. If you set the picture using Netscape or Internet Explorer, it should say something like `Netscape Wallpaper.bmp`. Just copy it and get a program to convert it to .jpg.

Using Alt/PrintScreen is a good tip. Otherwise capture the entire screen, paste it in paint then select the area of the total screen shot that you want, hit Save As, give it a name and your done. Just about as quick as using any 3rd party app.

PrintKey It is a very good program, and is freeware, or at least their old versions were.

EDIT: The new version isn't freeware. I can send you the old freeware version if you'd like.
