Need a waterproof backpack

So, it started raining in Davis,CA - lots of rain and wind.

My ~3 year old Targus laptop backpack needs a replacement, and I'm looking for a waterproof one. Brand isn't too important, and I don't mind paying for a quality backpack.

Any recommendations? I'd like it to be as waterproof as a backpack can be!

I'm looking at the Recon backpack by The North Face. Any reviews?

timbuk2 has some waterproof stuff (if not all of it) but, last i looked, theyre made for smaller notebooks (really macs). anything bigger than 14" probably wont fit in it.

but i have a timbuk2 bag that i *love* and its amazingly well built. and ive rinsed it a few times in 3 years to clean it and the rubberized inside coating is fine. i also throw the bag around and throw stuff in it without much caring....its very sturdy
