I'm trying to find a VoIP phone with a loud speakerphone. This will be used on our company network but between two different locations. I know nothing about VoIP specifics. The application is that a person at Site A will direct a person at Site B in operating some equipment, and the Site A person will observe the results using a webcam. That part works fine, but we found that the Site B person needs to use a speakerphone so they don't have to hold a phone or carry anything - they need both hands free and need to move around a lot in a 30' x 20' area while doing what Site A person tells them.
I had thought we need to simply assign IP addresses to the two phones and that's it - one phone calls the other. Other things I've read imply that we could just attach a headset/mic to a PC on the network and use an IM program to communicate, but I don't know if IM programs are allowed (probably not).
The IP phones we found laying around work, but their speakerphone is way too soft to be effective.
Any guidance appreciated.
