need a Socket A that supports 2400+ and ddr2100

my motherboard has died a Epox 8kha+ (sp?)

i am running

XP 2400+
512kb DDR 2100
geforce 4ti

looking for a good board that is compatible. I am rusty on motherboard information 😛

anyone know of a good board for this set up? everythign i seem to find eitehr doesnt support the 2400 or doesnt support ddr2100

or maybe i am just overlooking...

Pretty much any socket a motherboard will support those items, ive put a 2200+ and pc2100 ram on a asus a7v880 as an example.

Most board specs list the max that it will do, and generally you can assume any socket a motherboard will suppot the Athlon XP cpus

I was actually looking at the a7v880 ... but could find actual specs 😛

I am aslo looking into the DFI infinity (not sure wich version to get tho)

I use an A7V880 at work in my system, nice board, works great.

Should do what you need it to.

what about the A7N8X deluxe , seems to be a bit more pricey

(i should note the pc is used mostly for gaming and desgin work)

I have to give kudos to Biostar for their Socket A motherboards. They make a bunch of different Athlon XP-compatible motherboards that are dirt cheap and very, very reliable.

I started using Biostar boards out of necessity. Friends would have their Gigabyte, Shuttle, or MSI motherboards fail on them and I'd have to go get a replacement at a local store to get them back up and running. The local shop had plenty of motherboards, but the Biostars were always the cheapest. I'd install the boards, never have a problem with them, and never have to replace them down the road.

Biostar doesn't offer bleeding edge technology, they don't cater to ubergeeks or overclockers in particular, and they don't get a lot of props. They do make really good, reliable motherboards that are quite inexpensive.
