I cannot find any on pricewatch. Anyone know of one? Built in sound, graphics, etc. is not needed, but support for large hard drives and support for a k6-2 450 is a must.

The problem is that this board is not for me, it's for one of my customers, and I need for them to be able to buy it.....

*sigh*

So I'm SOL, huh? I don't know what the hell im going to do then.

Try talking them into a K7S5A and Duron900 for under a 100$ delivered?

Just stay away from FIC- nothing but craptastic experience back in the Socket 7 days when I was tinkering with them. I really got into my hardware makes and models around the debut of the Athlon, so I'm sorry to say I can't recommend another board. If MSI or ASUS make a Socket 7 AT board, go with that. Check eBay- should find one for well under 50 bucks.

ANY socket 7 mobo can support 40Gb HDD (if not natively then with disk geometry translation software from disk manufacturer).

The mobo the customer is currently running will not support the 40 gig maxtor.

I may try to talk them into a Duron and a new mobo, as it seems very hard to find socket 7 mobos anymore. Man, i remember when these things WERE the thing to have. Back in the "good old days".

Thank you for all your input,
zs

Ahhh, WTH, 10's for everyone!

This must be repeated to you :

MaxBlast software.

From Maxtor allows large hard drives to be installed in systems that don't support large drives in the BIOS. Its is called EZ BIOS.

Try it first.

Actually the FIC board to get is the 503A.
Excellent board, with support for such things as UDMA66, 4 USB, Temp sensor, and lower voltage K6+ cpu's.
Great overclocker. Running K6-2 450+ at 600MHz, problem free.
Prior board was 503+, and it too was a nice board, but the 503A is in another class.
