I was wondering if anyone knows of any good printers, or brands of printers, that are first and foremost small. I was looking at the mobile printers, like the Canan ip90, but it holds little ink, and it fairly expenisive at around $200. Also, a quick boot up and fast text printing would be nice. Quiet would be nice but not neccesary. My brother says his epson takes forever to print the first page (quik after that) but is also very loud. Any suggestions? BTW, those printers that have the feeder and/or paper tray fold into the printer would be nice :)

How small do you need it to be? There's couple of deal for the Samsung 1740. It's smallish laser printer. If you're going print reports and HW for college work, you'll blow alot of $$ on those ink jet models. A single toner cartidge will probably last you more than 1 year worth of school work.

Well, as i said, the ip90 is as small as they come- the size of a book really. But it has small ink cartridges. Anything that fits nicely under a desk will do. I've heard all of canon's printer's are not only good quality, but have cheap ink (i think because the nozzles are not replaced). I haven't heard if they are quiet, but thats not that big of deal. A small laser looks interesting, but i'll probably need to print color once and a while

When you're not printing /much/ color, get one of the small&cheap canons, iP1000, 1500, 2000. These are as compact as they come for desktop printers, and have a separate, reasonably large black ink tank. If you're not printing any color at all, a cheap laser would be in order.
