Anybody know where I can get a Sloket for FC-pga processors and not pay an arm and a leg for it or the darn shipping?:|

Here

Learned this from someone else on here. I ended up buying the Asus S370-DL.. paid almost $40 for it.

But it was worth it.. my $9 slocket was causing blue screens in XP.. not anymore with the Asus.

One questions about the "Asus S370-DL Smart Slot 1 Slotket". It says coppermine ready... bit down in the fine details it say PPGA only. I must have FC-pga, What processor do you have running on yours?

Do you mean that.... when using a dual slot 1 processor board the slocket will only work if both are ppga?

So, either way, Does it work for FC-pga processors in a single CPU MoBo?

And... Why can't I find any information on this product on ASus's web site?

Naw, PPGA only refers to Plastic Pin Grid Array.

As far as Slotkets go, I speak from experience, don't get a cheap one. I tried that route to save money like you want to and my built system would do nothing but lock up. I RMA'd that POS and purchased an MSI Master for $30 from PCNut. It has been chugging along fine for 18 months now.

<< The S370-DL CPU card supports single Coppermine / Celeron and dual Coppermine / Celeron (PPGA only) processors >>

This is what you are refering to, correct? I think the reason it says this is because the only Celeron's that will work in smp (dual) are PPGA 533mhz and lower. It really has nothing to do with the slotket itself. This slocket will work fine with your flip chip. It's a very good slotket in fact. I have one myself.
