Need a simple external back-up solution

Which is better
1. an external USB HDD
2. an internal HDD mounted in an external USB enclosure
or
C none of the above?

#1 & #2 are basically the same thing except for #2 you're choosing the parts that you want. It would prob be cheaper to buy your external enclosure and hard drive and put everything together.
There is another option which is to get an external CD Burner or DVD Burner (depending on the amount of data to be backed up).

Nice - I think I will get the 80GB version as my wife's laptop only has a 60GB HDD...
