Need a Router

I am currently in the process of building a new computer and need a router to split a 512kbs comcast cable connection among the new computer and this one. I need suggestions and advice for what to look for in a router and what brands are good for online gaming (won't cut off every 60 sec). Oh and the router MUST be wireless. Both computers will always be in the home and less than 40 feet from each other (right above on 2nd floor). I need to know what router to get and which internal (not critical) adapters to get for this to work well without significant slow downs.

i'm running a wrt54g with custom firmware and me loves it. i've heard good things about the d-link routers though. for the wireless g pci card, i'm using a trendnet tew-423pi. i love the wireless utility it comes with. its completely non bloated. it works great with me. i liked it so much i got the trendnet wireless b card for my mom's computer.

Well I have no experience with routers. So I am guessing that I need A) the router and B) two wireless adapters (internal PCI). I am wondering if this is correct in order to split the cable connection and not have wires all over the place.
