I'm using my ISP's at the moment, but I'm guessing I'll lose it if/when I switch ISPs. I'd prefer something that can be checked with outlook and doesn't have spam, and something that's permanent. I'd even think about getting my own server and domain if there's something reliable and cheap around. I'd hardly need any space or bandwidth.

and for the record, I did do a quick search. didn't feel like looking through a bunch of threads :(

RossMAN is offering free 50mb accounts IIRC. You need to purchase a domain but thats it. Spam free email is not a possibility, just gotta filter whether it be server side or some software.

I haven't gotten one spam e-mail on my current account, and I've had it for about a year.

Thats how it should be. You just need to know where to submit your email.

hotmail can be used in outlook express, albeit it's not exactly "feature rich" and does take a bit longer to do things as it has to synchronize with the server constantly.

Gmail when it's here *if* it comes will apparently be able to use outlook.

I'm a little hesitant to use hotmail as my main e-mail though. anandtech doesn't even allow you to sign up with a hotmail address do they?

I also use Ureach.com (not as my main e-mail account), I get maybe 2 SPAM e-mails a week.

thirtythree - I am testing out a new web host who uses the DirectAdmin control panel. So anyone who wants a FREE web hosting account can get 1, there are only 8 left. It comes with email/webmail (whateveryouwant@yourdomain.com) and you can also host a web site as well. So you would have your own email plus a web site for pics and stuff.

All you need to do is register a domain with GoDaddy.com then read my sig.

Nope, iirc, they don't allow most free email.
