for use with a print server (~10 users). Looking for something for $350 or less.

Thanks.

PCWorld says the Brother 5040 at Buy.com for $279, less $50 if you buy it before 5/15. You might want to also buy a 64 MB SIMM for it from Crucial.com for another $35-40.

brother is good...but the downside of brother is that you have to replace the drum kit every 3-4 toners used. The drum kits are $150 retail...but i get them at an awesome price and toners as well. So far i like HP, lexmark, and brother.

For a print server with 10 users i strongly reccommend spending a sub $1000 printer...the cost of the toner on the higher end machines will pay for itself in the long run. HP 4000 or 8000 series comes to mind...let me if you need a toner price =)

HP Laserjet 4200/4300 series (35/45 ppm, respectively)

They're the successor to the 4000/4050/4100 series, & are great printers (and surprisingly cheap).

They start around $1000.

For that many people a $350 printer really isn't going to cut it. Get a real printer:

- Fast
- Low cost per page (18K page max capacity cartridges)
- Expandable (Two expansion slots, plenty of memory support, font/barcode DIMMS, staple/stacker options, etc.)

So what are we talking ballpark wise for toner replacements for these $1000 printers you're recommending?
