I'm new to LCD's and I've read the buying guides but I'm having some problems figuring out what's what.
I need a 17' lcd, a 19 is really too expensive for me. I do graphic work and light gaming, so I am more concerned about proper color display than ghosting with games.
I'm having trouble finding out if certain monitors are 6 or 8 bit. The stores don't list this info (or I am blind) and some of the manufacture's web sites don't come out and say it. I need an 8 bit with a DVI connection. Around $350 or less (less is always better!) If I go over 375 I might as weel hold out and save another month for a 19.
I find that retail stores charge about $100 bucks or so more for the same thing so I would also like to know who has the best price to exchange policy ratio. Newegg is 8 dead pixles which I feel is unacceptable. Any decent online retailer good with LCD defect rates as well?
Thanks
