I'm taking this computer back to its owner in a bit, and I don't really want to go back to their house just to change this.

On Windows XP pro, if I unbind File & Printer Sharing from their network card, does that disable the administrative share as well? They have a cable modem and no password on any account except Administrator, so I'd like to make sure people can't access their hard drive. They don't need to share files for any reason. They're running Norton Internet Security as their firewall.

I dont' think the administrative share is a problem in this case because, if I remember correctly, smb is LAN only, so access from the internet is unlikely.

Also, I think the Networking forum is more appropriate, but no sweat off my back.

I will recommend that you change the name of the "administrator" account to something else, as that is what people try to access. Rename it Bob or after a pet or something. If they are logged on under the "admin" account you don't have to share anything, because it is already yours, if you get what I mean.
