Need a Quality HSF for C2D That's Easy to Install

Title says it all.

I've considered the Tuniq 120 and Coolermaster Hyper 6. I like their install methods vs. Intel's stock push-pin type method, or worse, a spring clip mount.

But I'd really like something a bit smaller than these two that still offers excellent cooling AND an easy install method.

BTW, am using an Asus P5B-DLX in a CoolerMaster Praetorian 730 case.

A Scythe Ninja is a little smaller than a Tuniq Tower, but still large enough for a 120mm fan, It's very easy to install, no need to change the retention frame.

Man, the further I dig, the worse it gets ...

Neither the Tuniq nor the CM Hyper 6 will fit in my CM Praetorian 730 case. This is no small case either. There is less than 130mm distance between the side panel and the top of the motherboard standoffs as mounted in the slide-out mobo tray. With mobo and CPU mounted, there's obviously even less clearance, I'd guess maybe 10 or 15mm less.

At this point, I'm leaning towards the Zalman 9500.

the Zalman 9500 is a great choice also as DrMrLordX pointed out so is the 7700 and if you still need something smaller go with the 7000Cu all made by Zalman and i personally have all models and i love them all. just one problem they are pretty expensive, but thats my opinion.

I went with the Zalman 9500. Very easy to install, once you figure out the instructions for orienting the heatsink and putting on the S clip. They have a web animation for installation too, but both that and the manual are confusing/contradictory. The cover illustration for the manual turns out to be the one place that shows the correct installation for a 775 C2D (as well as other socket types).
