need a project idea

I'm a computer engineering student and I'm in a class that is similar to a senior design class where you come up with a design project, execute it, and do a little write up on it. Unfortunately I have no ideas what so ever. I have a full semester to do the project. The university provides for all the costs and parts of the project. Some examples of previous semester projects:

Some others were robotic Foosball table that sensed where the ball was with webcam, self playing guitar with robotic picks, and metal hand controlled by human hand.

Doesn't need to be robotic though, can be anything electrical engineering or computer engineering. Thanks

Take one of the projects off his wish-list that's never going to get done due to lack of manpower/budget (always true), and MAKE IT HAPPEN.

I predict miles and miles of red tape. Someone on this very board tried to donate a cabinet or some shit like that to a school and it got rejected...the union was going to file a complaint or something like that.

A machine that records bad bahavior (line/lane cutters, loud cell phone talkers etc) and kills the offender after a set number of infractions.

Software that uses a camera's input to map an area. Could potentially be used for anything from mapping some girl's bedroom at night to mapping partially collapsed buildings in an earthquake zone. Realistically you would need more hardware than just one camera, but the setup could be as simple as one camera and one rangefinder, and I think you get the idea anyway.

Small specialized 'swarm' bots that can be configured by the computer for different cleaning tasks. I envision a cubic swarm that lives in the bathroom and cleans while you're sleeping.
