Howdy all! It's been a couple weeks since I've been on ATOT and in that time I've acquired a DVD burner. I've got hundreds of hours of videos stored on my hard drive that I'd like to convert into DVD format (.vob, .bup, .ifo). I haven't been able to find a program that can do this for me which is highly disappointing. I'd like to put this DVD burner to good use. Help me out here folks!

First convert the video files to MPEG2 files - waht TMPGENC is best at.
Then you need a DVD authoring programm which will take those MPEG2 files and create a hierachy, Menus etc... and output all that to IFO and VOB files. -Won't make a recommendation, there are many and each does something better that another one can't.
Finally you need a prgram to burn the DVD (if the authoring programm doesn't support your burner). Nero 6 is my favorite for this.

Thanks thraxes, but I already know this much. I have TMPGENC and Nero 6 , I need something to get from the file TMPEGENC outputs to a file Nero 6 can recognize to burn to DVD. I have no idea what programs are capable of doing this and I've been searching for hours. Help please! I really do need a recommendation of a program here. General info does me no good at this point. I've already visited doom9 and dvdrhelp and was unable to find an answer. If someone can recommend a program (free or otherwise) to convert from avi/mpg to .vob/.bup/.ifo I'd greatly appreciate it.
I know TMPEGENC DVD Author can do this but the program is $68 for crying out loud!

if you already have the vob, .bup, .ifo files all you have to do is burn them in Nero using DVD-Video mode. Drag all files to Video_TS folder. If your DVD player can't recognize them, it is probably the fault of the media. CHeck dvdrhelp.com to see what kind of media your dvd player is compatible with.

waylman, I do not have the .vob/.bup/.ifo files, I have .avi/.mpg that I need to convert to .vob/.bup/.ifo. I understand how to burn a DVD using Nero, I just need to find something to convert my existing avi and mpeg files to a DVD format that Nero can recognize.

Thanks for the advice guys, but I still need help! All I need is the name of a program (or programs) that will let me convert from .avi/.mpg to .vob/.ifo/.bup. I already have TMPGENC and I'm told TMPGENC DVD Author will do what I need to do but I'd rather not spend $68 on it. Can anyone recommend a program that will go straight from .avi/.mpg to .vob/.ifo/.bup?

Did *you* even read my post where I stated I've already been to doom9 and dvdrhelp? I don't need a tutorial on how to do it, I just need to know a program that can do it. Oh, and I did visit all links in this thread, thank you very much.
