I recommend you come up with another 2,or 3 hundred dollars. $200 will not buy a PRESSURE washer! Anything less than 2400psi would be a waste of your time, and money.
You can throttle down, but you can't throttle up.

What are you using it for? If it is for general house/deck cleaning you can get away with a cheaper model, but if you are going to clean concrete or need power beyond a few feet of spray you will have to go higher psi which means more $$.

Personally I have the $99 model that home depot offers and it works fine for me. It has 1400 psi which is fine for what I am doing. You can get a 2k psi model for just over 200 there I think.

Yeah, it really depends on your needs. I have a 1300 or 1400 psi model that I bought at Meijer two years ago for $40 on sale. I use it to remove the moss that grows on the shady side of the house, and it works great. I could see getting one that sprays a higher volume of water, but foir my needs, this one is great.

My recommendation

I have a similar model and it does anything and everything: cleaning wooden decks, cement, asphalt, siding perfectly.

Once used a kersene one that heated the water first. Man, that thing was a beast!

How do you know what tasks he needs it for? I have a 1300psi model and it works fine for what I need.
