Looking to build a new system and probably purchasing in november during black friday this year.

I don't really know anything about PSUs, my current one has lasted me 5 years and I have no idea what it is, LOL. I think I bought it off of a recommendation on this site years ago.

What PSU would be reliable and quiet and around $100 or less? I'm thinking of initially going with a GTX980ti. I keep my computers for a long time, so it should last at least 5+ years. And a baby might be sleeping in the same room, so I want it quiet enough not to wake a baby, although I'll probably be sleeping too...

Looking at youtube videos of builds, it seems like they pick corsairs a lot...
Is the CORSAIR RM750i 750W a good pick or are there better ones?

Thanks!

I wouldn't go for the corsair as they seem to have lost some quaility over the past year or two (Using cheaper caps). For powering a GTX 980ti shouldn't need anything more than 750w unless you go silly with the overclocks. Those are what I'd get.

I like the Corsair. I've been running dual GTX 660 and now a GTX 980Ti with a Seasonic X650 with no problems, so you could definitely drop down to the next lower wattage power supply if that helps with your budget.
