Need a parallel port

I have a laptop that has no parallel ports. I need to hook up a parallel port boundary scan device. Ive tried two different usb -> parallel adapters but both just emulate a parallel port and dont actually give you an lpt1 in the device manager (which is what I need). Does anyone know if there are any devices that will do this? If not usb, then are there pcmcia cards?

Is there a docking port available for the laptop? Check eBay maybe. That should have a real parallel port in it. I don't know anything at all about other possibilities though.

The laptop doesnt have a docking station port, but we also tried one of those 3rd party usb docking stations with no luck.
