I am building an entertainment system around my PC. I need your info on a good case. Let me tell you what i am looking for. It has to be pretty roomy. Meaning I need at least 4 ext. 5.25" amd 2 ext 3.5" drives or 5 and 1 would work to. I need at leats 2 int. 3.5", but 3 or more is a definate plus. Also i would really like an extra 5.25 ext. or 2, but the 4 is a minimum. I know there are a lot of full towers that fit these specs. I also need it to look half way decent since everyone will see it in my entertainment system. I was thinking a black case would be nice, but don't want the ugly beige drives. I know I could paint them, but I don't want to risk that. Anyhow. I really like the Antec SX1030, just wish it had a few more drive bays, but maybe I can manage. I have seen some awesome neon mods with it and they look great. But if anybody has any other ideas i would love to hear them. I have also been looking at the addtronics 7890a, but it is a little huge to hide in an entertainment system. Also if everybody thinks I should use the antec, does anyone know where i could get it cheap, preferably without the power supply, cause I want to put my own it. That was another reason i like the addtronics, redundant power supplies. Oh well LMK.

The SX1030 has 4 external 5 1/2 bays and 2 external 3 1/4 bays and it has place for six internal hard drives.

I'm not seeing why 4 5.25" external bays would be needed. Assuming it's for home entertainment, I can see a need for maybe a DVD drive but can't imagine what the other 3 bays are for. Anyway, the reason I'm wondering is because a 19" black rackmount would look quite sweet on an AV rack. Most of them even have smoky plastic or metal "doors" on the front so you could even cover up beige floppy or DVD drives behind that. Rackmountpro (no affiliation whatsoever...never even bought from them) seems to have an OK selection and they do *bay as well so maybe even better deals there.

First of all I know how many bays are on the SX1030, that would be a minimum for me. Secondly, this computer will have a DVD drive, a CDRW, a NewQ gold or platinum(haven't decided), a live drive, possible bay bus, possible digidoc, LS120, 250MB zip, plus who knows what else I will come up with. I guess this is more than an entertainment PC, that will be it's main use, but i will also use it as a standard PC.

Found pretty cool case from ColorComputerCases.com. They shipped really fast too. They didn't ask for my credit card number, used a secure service called Paypal.

I wish i could afford an aluminum case, maybe if i save for a while. What deos everyone think of the sx1030b. I had some ideas about how to make it look good in my entertainment system and then i found these pics, they were a lot like what i had planned, so tell me what you think.

I don't know how I could have missed this in all the reviews I read about the antec sx1030b, but i just realized it doesn't have a removeable motherboard tray. From what I have heard the new abit kt7a motherboard has the cpu socket at the very top of the motherboard(putting it directly under the power supply) thus making it nearly impossible to remove the heatsink without a removable motherboard tray. Any suggestions?

Sure since I will be building this computer from scratch I can install the cpu then the motherboard, the problem is removing it after it is installed. I am not someone who will remove thier heatsink and cpu once a week, but it may happen every once in a while and it looks like it will be a real pain.

Elan Vital T-10 are really nice. Unless you like being jerked around by tech support people, avoid Antec.
