need a new vacuum (again)

SandEagle

Lifer
the Eureka that I bought last year crapped out recently. guess i'm going to spend a few hundred $$ to get a quality one this time. any recommendations? i am currently looking at a Dyson DC33 and a Dyson DC24. The thought of spending $300+ on a vacuum hurts. i missed all the good black friday deals

the cheapest DC33 i could find is at Sam's Club for $319.99 and that includes 2 attachments. i guess i will have to go with this. can't afford to wait for a sale as the home is a mess now. fffffff

Like others... Dyson. Going on five years with our DC18 and it still sucks. Literally.

Think about it this way. You will spend $300+ once and then not have to buy another one for presumably ten years. As opposed to dropping $100 every year or two on the shit that Eureka/Hoover/etc puts out. And with Dyson you never have to worry about filters, belts, parts breaking, etc. Just the occassional thorough cleaning every year or so.

Looks like Dyson is the way to go. 😛 I will probably consider one when my central vac bites the dust. I like the idea of a central vac, but at the same time it's kinda a pain in the butt to lug that huge hose all over if I need to do a small spot cleaning.

My central vac has been operational since 1982, so I have a feeling it's not going to bite the dust any time soon. It just keeps sucking on it. 😛

Supposedly those Shark vacuums are pretty good, and half the cost of Dysons.

My sister in law thought the same thing. Luckily for her Bed Bath & Beyond took the piece of shit that was the Shark back after 8 months of use and credited her towards the purchase of a Dyson.

The Shark doesnt pick up half the dirt you cant see that the Dyson does.

They are more like 1/4 the price of a dyson.

I got a shark when I got married, and it picks up disgusting amounts of dust and dirt out of our carpets. Do a small section of carpet and you have to dump the bin because it's getting so much.

I have a red devil vacuum that basically does the job fine. it's worked for 10 years. I always wondered if i brought in a dyson what kind of shit it would pick up that my red devil never will.

I have a dyson dc25 (i think) and it works great. Also have a kirby ultimate and some hoover. The dyson is the best 😀
