I agree with a lot of the shows posted here, but Jersey Shore just had Last Jerzday last night Dumac and is, as of now, off the air. Don't worry though, Jenny and Snooks got a second season and Vinny has a new talk show where he has celebs come over to his mom's house and get the royal classical Italian family treatment. First up is Lil' Wayne!
Anyhow, I would say The Walking Dead is the most must see show going right now man. My wife and I skipped it when it first came on and we started watching it one night on Netflix. The next week we were watching 2-3 shows a night. I have seen some proclaim it's cheesiness or inconsistencies, but I found it to be very gripping after the first few episodes. As with anything it depends on your personal taste, but I was a skeptic of this show going in, and I watch every new episode the night they come on now.
Game of Thrones is also extremely good and I would certainly highly recommend that.
New Girl is hilarious. Yeah, I said it.
I also watch Two Broke Girls and The Mindy Project with my wife and they are very good shows as well.
Eastbound and Down is an all-time classic for me, love that show. I'm not sure if it is cancelled but you should be able to find it somewhere.
Newsroom on HBO is another show I almost forgot. Incredibly good show, I wouldn't and haven't missed a minute of it.
Dexter is also worth a watch, for sure, but it's on it's 8th season so you should start from the beginning. I started watching in season 2 and my wife brought me up to speed, but that is a series I would like to watch front to back. It is really great and truly interesting.
The League is also really good for a laugh. You have tons of great suggestions already in this thread. I threw out a few good wifey shows for ya, so you should be set for the next couple of...months, years?
