Need a new scanner

I have an old HP scanner (3 or so years) and I guess I could d/l the Xp drivers (I have a brand new PC) with XP Pro) but with scanners so cheap, why not get a new one?

I will use it primarily for documents and inserted graphics. Can't see scanning photos as I have a digital camera.

Any experience for anyone?

Almost any Epson should do you well and one can often get great deals on them on eBay - folks dumping the "free-after-rebate" scanners they got in package-deals from the big-box stores. I got my 1260 PHOTO (NIB) for less than $50. shipped from eBay that way. And I'm very pleased with it. You can often find good deals on Epson refurbs in Epson's web store. Usually get free ground shipping too.

Looked at HP and Epson at Best Buy- seem to be siimilar and same $130 price tag except had to send in rebate for Epson for $20 to make the HP and Epson the same price.
