Need a new rpm distro

So I generally run Mandriva but it appears to be heading the way of the dinosaurs, and have enjoyed the .rpm installations. I don't need to use rpm's, I can use anything. It'd just be nice to stick with it.

Some have suggested that I use Fedora or openSUSE, but I am just not sure.

The only thing I am sure about is that I absolutely will not be using ubuntu (or any variant). Bleh, cannot stand that distro. Can someone assist me with this task?

The purpose of the OS will be for 2 reasons (on 2 computers). The first will be an HTPC eventually. And the second will be a daily computer for everything except games (browsing, coding, chatting, etc).

Yeah, that's what I figured. Should be an easy enough transition. Thanks for the help.

Ubuntu is the defacto standard desktop these days. There's a Mint version based upon Ubuntu and one based upon Debian if you're really that anti-Ubuntu.

I prefer stock Debian sid, but the installer's a little rough compared to Fedora, Mint or Ubuntu.

Since you're using Mandriva, I vote for Mageia. It forked from Mandriva about a year or so ago after the funding drama went down.
