An IOpener is good to keep you busy if you could find one like you said.. hmm learn php and make some webpages that rely on a database to provide some kind of service. Thats what I've been meaning to do for a while.

you can practice the fine art of packaging up computer parts for shipment.

1. take apart your computer into the smallest pieces possible.
2. package them all up into boxes.
3 write my address on them.
4. take it to the post office and pay for the shipping.

now, isn't this a fun new hobby? PM me for my address.

Maybe you should try reading books? They're like movies but you have to supply the video and audio, some are free too.

you cant get books from napster and you can't warez them either.
thing is with books, ppl say "they allow you to use ur imagination" how could u imagine certain things if you haven't seen them before? I can't imagine what i would visualize a dragon or whatever to be w/o movies... i mean, if i was reden a book when i was little about dragons, and haven't the visual imagery to accompany it, for something scary I would imagine i dunno really...because i would have nothing to be afraid of and nothing to base my imagination on...

When you first begin reading, you might try books with pictures. Dr Suess writes alot of them. Then, with experience, you might be able to read books WITHOUT pictures. Yes, they exist. They are very interesting, too.

so you're saying there are people out there when they read charles dickens, imagine a world filled with cats and hats or grinches? thats a real shame if you used the illustrations in children's books to fill literary characters .... as if I imagined Holden Caulfield or whoever to look like the man in the yellow hat

pamchenko-
If you are imagining Scrooge as the Cat in the hat, you are not ready to graduate from Suess.

ok, but didn't u suggest in an earlier post to use illustrated books as a foundation from which to draw my imagination from?

nonetheless, i wish i did read more cuz i'm so uncultured...watching as movies doesn't really draw the same respect as being well read. its not fair, but i didn't make up the rules.

Movies and TV are mindless. Books excercise the mind. The brain is like any muscle. If you don't use it, you lose it. Doctors instruct alzheimers patients to do things like cross word puzzles and read books to excercise their minds. Movies dull the mind.
