it sucks thate the community for vengence isnt very big, but if u can find a good server where u can do at least a 3v3 its awesome. its a really fast paced game, faster than UT cause u use jetpacks instead of jumping, plus u have vehicles and can customize ur characters. Its like a blend of UT2k4 and TFC cause it has huge maps and vehicles like UT2k4, but u can have different classes(light, medium, heavy, and diff types of equipment) and u can build turrets, mines and repair stations like TFC.

U can download a multiplayer demo here if u wanna check it out.

To each his own I guess. I played BF almost every night for a year and never got bored of it.
Loading times?
It took maybe 30 seconds to load a new map on my xp1700 / 512MB PC2100 system. It only got irritating when playing on a server that only played one round on each map.

I still think HL1 multiplayer, and TFC 1.5 are fun as hell.

You really need to try Action Half-Life then. :D

Action Quake 2 is really good too.

After playing Tribes Vengence for 6 hrs at a lan party, i have to say that tribes vengence is the best multiplayer game out now.

I havent tried it. How popular is the game in the community and how many good east coast servers? Is the game as fast paced as UT?

Faster paced actually. And the learning curve is bigger than any other FPS, and the fun is only half of other games. I got twice the kill counts per map in other games, even when I was top killer. I just took the game back and got HL2 instead. Haven't regretted it.

Action Quake 2 was the bomb! I remember so many sh*tty custom maps and models though, they were pathetic! Action HL just didn't do it for me.

A lot of older games mentioned are still great. Currently I'm playing HL2DM/CS:S and Joint Operations.

edit: I was an old school T1 and T2 player, but I thought Vengeance was just plain garbage.

Of all these games, I'd still say CS for one reason. It's more challenging for me. Some people are not naturally good at FPS's, some people are better at some than others, you should find one you aren't very good at but you enjoy. It lasts longer when there's room for improvement.
