I have just purchased a new computer from monarch, its a 3200+, 6800 gt, and a gig of ram. Now i need to decide what monitor i should get to go with my new system. i have about $400 but if needed I could go up to $500 with shipping. It will be used mainly for gaming css and battlefield 2 when it comes out.
What I'm looking for, I would like a CRT because if a more flexible resolution since i want to play at 16x12 with my new graphics card and no lcd's i could find except the 20" dell on goes to that. Now the problem is that there seem to be almost no CRT's that are still being made that i could find, My brothers comp has a NEC FE2111sb which seems really nice to me and something along those lines would be very nice.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated, if you know a lcd that has 16x12 in my price range that could be nice, but at the moment it seems that CRT's are still the way to go, Thanks for all the help.

azatek.com has some good deals. Do your research on them though. I got a great 21" IBM P260 for $90. I think they have lcd's too.

If you could bump it up to $550 shipped, you could get a 22" NEC that would be incredible.

I really like my own 19" NEC. If you like your brother's, why not get the same one for yourself?

If you want a crt, the best Monitor i have ever found is the Dell P991. you can pick them up for around $50, and they are AMAZING for gaming. I personally own a 2405 Flat panel, but have bought over a dozen of these for my work. LCD wise in your price range i would really reccomemend either Dual 1905's, a single 2001 or a single 2005. Or once again if you want to go cheaper, the Dell 1800FP was a classic lcd monitor that was good for gaming despite the bad refresh on the specs> no ghosting at all. Not 16x12 though. These can be had used for around $200
