I have a very open ended question here guys, I am sick and tired of this via kt133a chipset in my kt7a, I am going with a ddr board, I need one that is stable, can oc, and will work out of the box (it took me 4 months to get this kt7a compatible with usb devices) Another question I have, is the new via kt333 chipset prone to the same problems as other via chipsets? (ie usb incompatibilities?) I don't need an integrated board as I have sound, network, and video all taken care of already, I just need to know a good ddr board that is rock stable

I`ve been using the Epox 8KHA+ (VIA KT266A) for about 6 months now and I mainly use it for gaming & general use,it`s rock stable and very easy to setup with only one jumper to worry about (100/133mhz FSB),all my USB devices work great ,infact it`s one of my favourite boards of all time, also a good overclocker if you are into that.

:)

I recommend the ABIT KR7A-RAID or ABIT KR7A-133R Motherboard. All around great board. Check the reviews.

thanks guys for the input, I just need to know if you have had ANY problems with usb devices? My wireless network card is usb as is my mouse, and my gtxp has a usb hookup, and I am tired of dealing with the instabilities.

OK I`m using on my Epox 8kha+ the following USB devices,

USB Logitech mouse,
USB Logitech keyboard,(in USB mode)
USB Thrustmaster firestorm gamepad.
USB Epson C70 Printer.

LG flatron 915FT flatron monitor with 4 USB downstream and 1 upstream
Extra Epox USB twin port(fits in a PCI slot but connects to a USB header on the motherboard)
Also two USB ports on the Epox motherboard.

All working ok with my WinXP Pro,never had any problems at all. I swapped my USB devices around to the different ports above to test them all.

I got a Soyo Dragon Plus and I've got steering wheel, joystick, and 3 game pads (all force feedback) that are USB plus USB mouse, printer, and scanner. I've no problems (use two hubs). The great thing about the Dragon Plus is the smart card reader that is a 3.5 bay size with a 5.25 adapter. It has 2 USB ports with it so you can have 2 up front and they are enabled in the bios so clean and easy to install and use.

Im kinda up in the air on the Soyo mobo's I have the Fire Dragon and for $200.00 I expect alot more. Now dont get me wrong it is fast and very very stable, but for overclocking it sucks. I can only manage 115 fsb stable, 2.0 at 2.3. This is due most likely to the AGP and PCI bus getting too out of spec. i have been thinking about a new board and for $98.00 the Epox 4BDA looks real tempting. I have heard NOTHING but good things about it, and it has a lock for the PCI and AGP bus at 33/66 just like Abit does. Does anyone have this model board that can give me some MORE good news?
