Need a new digital camera give me some recomendations

I have my eyes dead set on the Cannon Rebel XSi. It's an older model however, it's around 5 to 600. It comes with a 18 to 55mm lense. I"m going to china in August. I want to bring a good camera with me. I heard this is a good one. Is there anything better or comprable in this price.

I'm in the IT field so I"m not scared of technology. Is this a good model?

I had the Xsi until recently when I upgraded to a 50D. Very good camera.

Good quality used 40D can be had for the price of a new Xsi.

Easy there young man...sorry for sounding vague.

I was just saying that 50ds are really good but if he cannot afford it, used mint 40ds are good enough and they are now priced competitively to a brand new xsi body.
