My Nokia 6190 is getting a little old, and I'm looking for a newer phone. I'm looking to spend under $100... any suggestions? Is my best bet a 3300 phone or are there any other alternatives in my pricerange? And if I do go with a 3300, is the best to get a 3390 or is there a better model?

Feature wise the Nokia 8260/8290 is better but I don't like it's size and don't need the infared laptop capabilities it comes with.

So my vote goes for the Nokia 3360/3390. I'm also a Nokia 6190 owner and what might really annoy you about the other phones is a lack of an END button.

Lots of afficianados(Me being NOT one of them) are pretty harsh on the 33XX series. I actually like the looks quite a bit, but the reception isn't too hot, compared to the 82XX.
I'm going to try to be as loyal as possible to Nokia though, I love their menus and features.
Have a look at the 8390 when it comes out shortly, it looks hot and if you're doing a hardware upgrade, you should be able to get it for close to your price? Hopefully. I don't have a clue what it'll debut at, but it looks alot like the 82XX.

I was in the same boat as you, having the same phone even. In the end, I went to AT&T and bought the Panasonic TX310. Quite a small and sleek looking phone. This phone reminds me of the phone in Japan I saw a few months ago, only a little larger (still pretty small compared to what we have out here).

Oh, and I'm with VoiceStream if that makes any difference...

Rossman, if there's no End button on the other phones, how do you hang up?

Ok you got me. There is a button which is temporarily designated as an END button, so yes you can hang up :D

What I meant to say is there is no specially designated physical button that's labelled END. It makes it really convenient for me to end my calls and to engage the keyguard. I just press the END button for about 3 seconds then all the keys are locked. No menu's to navigate through.

Hmmn maybe I should re-consider the 8260 after my 6190 bites the dust.

Thanks.

I went and looked at some phones, and I ended up buying the 8290...but I'm second guessing its durability. My friend says he knows a lot of people who've broken them with just one drop :| I'm thinking I should go for the 3390...any thughts?

Appearance wise the Nokia 8290 seems so tiny, fragile and easy to break.

There's a few 8290 vs. 3390 debates in the UseNet NewsGroup alt.cellular.nokia, that's probably your best source.

I have had a Nokia 6210 for a year now, is my 4th mobile and by far the best. Has great features and really meets my needs.
My contract is about to end so I'm gonna upgrade to the 6310. GPRS and Bluetooth will be useful.

They aint the smallest phones but are robust and great to use!

8890! I got mine almost free. /(start brag) Bought two of 'em for around $200 each and sold one on egay for about $400. One sale covered the cost of the other nokia 8890 which I keep :) (end brag)/

I know jack-crap about cell phones, but I think the Nextel's look pretty cool. Also, my friend has a Samsung phone that looks pretty cool.
