Need a new case that fits Extended-ATX

Hello All,

I need a new case that fits eATX mobos (Tyan Thunder K7 2462UNG...ya...BIG). I also need this case to have at least 10 bays (doesn't matter the ratio of 5.25 and 3.5...just needs that many). Power supply does not matter, as I will be removing it to use the propreitary NMB supply with the Tyan.

I have been looking at the Antec server cases, but they don't explicitly say that support eATX...at least not on the pages I have looked through.

Anyone have any recommendations for me??

THanks!!

Antecs Performace Plus 1000 series does fit extended ATX mobos. They also have 10 bays. 1080AMG It says it fits extended ATX as the last item under features.

Coolness....I was reading a different info page on MWave I guess.....

Any other recommendations? Anyone have experience with the 1080AMG? No sharp edges that i slit my wrists on 🙂 I hope...

Lian Li has a PC-60 that is longer than usual to fit extended boards. Do a hunt on Newegg. It's not too much more than a regular PC-60 either.

Several Chieftec cases also support this. Forget the model numbers but its the big ones in the matrix and dragon series.

I have the plusview 1000 which is basically the same case, but with a window and without a PSU. There are no sharp edges that will ever be touched. The case is very solid, and very heavy. Airflow is pretty good, but apparently some of the newer antecs are even better(but not extended ATX).

I think the plusview is like $80 on amazon now, but there is a $10 off $75 coupon around. I think Amazon also has the SX1000II in stock now that is the beige version of the 1080 without PSU for only like $60.

If you have the extra money, take a look into the Lian-Li's.

I have found the Codegen S-201. This case looks like it would do what I want perfectly. However, it isn't listed as eATX. I have a s-101 that isn't listed, but does fit my eATX boards perfectly.

Does anyone have any experience with the S-201?

Thanks

Many of the jumbo workstation Chenming boxes will work- they're all basically the same w/ four 5-1/4" and six 3-1/2" bays. They're trimmed out differently and sold under a variety of labels- Antec, Chenming, Uneec, Chieftec and Enermax, to name a few. They breathe really well and are easy to use. Not to mention stout.

If you like 'em fairly plain and don't want a door, check out the chieftec ct-2700 at Directron, for example...

Might look at the 758A at A-Pro. Plain Jane, but obviously stout, 1.2mm sheet metal, rare mobo tray, looks to have decent cooling potential.
