Our trusty HP c7280 has finally died and we are in the market for a new one. We are considering the following and wondering if anyone has experience with them:

1. Epson Workforce Pro 4630
2. Epson Workforce 3640
3. HP Officejet 8620

How are the photo prints?
How are Epson inks vs HP inks?
How many pages can be printed before changing cartridges?
Anything else we should know?

No love for Canon AIO? I have Canon MX330 AIO brand new off Craigslist but it lacks AirPrint for my iPad/iPhon but it prints very well. This is a basic feature I need since I have a Canon Pro 100 printer for photo print. :)

We considered a newer Canon, but it did not have a fax or adf. We then considered the Pixma 922, but the wife did not like its looks.

I'm also considering a new AIO printer. My parents recently got the HP Officejet 8620, I actually think it's a great unit, but am still on the fence about another HP printer. Any more opinions?

I'm highly considering a Brother: http://www.amazon.com/Brother-Printer-MFCJ5520DW-Wireless-Inkjet/dp/B00MFG5NDG/ref=pd_cp_e_3

This one's cool in that it can do 11x17, nice little bonus. Plus I've always liked their drivers, just enough to get the job done. Though I was pleasantly surprised with HP's drivers lack of bloat these days.

I have never tried a Brother, but always had great luck with HP and Epson. I am now looking at the HP 6830 vs the Epson 3620 as they are smaller and we don't need the extra paper trays. Regardless, it appears that these two are both highly rated, ink prices are similar, and just comes down to preference; 6 of one; half a dozen of the other, Coke or Pepsi, etc. Unfortunately, none of the stores around here offer print samples to look at the output quality in person.

We recently got the Canon MX472 which is decent and you can get the ink fairly cheap compared to HP. We also got a brother laser all in one that I'm planning on setting up this weekend. I find almost all consumer grade inkjets to be either complete crap or the ink is way too expensive considering the cost of printers. Some HP ink packs cost $60 and we got the Canon for around that price.

Well, pulled the trigger and went with the HP 6830. Installation was a breeze including the wifi set up and completed within 10 minutes or so. It probably took me a little longer as I was reading through everything as I was doing it and checking out the features. Print quality, including small fonts is excellent, fax is quick, and printed out an 8x10 photo of downtown Vegas during the day at max resolution which turned out beautifully with minimal ink usage. For our home, it appears that this is a great printer.
