Just a suggestion...if the two dogs have very similar sounding names they might get confused sometimes and you might end up calling the wrong dog, etc.

HONEY!!!!!!!!! we are not naming our cute little baby puppy any of those horrible names .... I like Barkley (the sesame street dog's name) ... or Sparky ... maybe even Spunky ... or Toby ...

Hmmm my parents have a polmeranian named Woody... heh was named after a family friend who happened to have very little hair... and the dog had very little hair as a puppy ;)
Or uh.. Casie if it's kinda golden retrieverish :)
