Ok I a building a computer and I basically have all the parts picked out and know what I want. But, I am kind of at a loss at what Monitor to get.

The Computer will be used for both business and gaming (Diablo 3, Sykrim, Dirt) and I want a 23-24". I will be running it off HDMI using a 7850 (most likely).

Here are the two I am looking at:

Asus - http://www.logicbuy.com/deals/asus-vh238h-23-inch-led-backlight-lcd-monitor/29655.aspx

HP - http://www.logicbuy.com/deals/hp-x2301-23-inch-micro-thin-led-lcd-monitor/32894.aspx

Price is about the same and reviews seem to be pretty good for both. I have no brand loyalty here and just want the better monitor. Any other suggestions in the $150-$200 (lower the better, but will pay more if it is better quality)?

Korean IPS (catleap) for $300 on ebay is likely what a lot of people will recommend. 27" 1440p IPS ~100hz display. Always an option.

Just bought one of those VS238H 1920x1080 monitors the other day at Best Buy and it is f'n sweet...especially considering I was transitioning from an old 1440x900 19-inch screen.

If you're not looking for something for professional Photoshop work or anything like that, the colors/contrast is damn nice out of the box and even better once you tweak it a little bit. And with the 2ms response time, on-screen motion is smooth as butter.

I got mine 2 days ago. I really like it. Have not gamed on it yet. But, I have used it to watch TV via HDMI cable to HD DVR and browsing the internet via DVI to laptop. Both look excellent.

Maybe try running the video playback via HDMI, b/c to me it looks great.
