My currents specs right now are
ASUS A7N8X Mobo
AMD Athlon XP 2800+ Barton
2x Corsair XMS 1GB PC-3200
ATI Radeon 9800 XT
WD Caviar 40 GB, 160GB, and 320GB
Rosewill RP550-2 ATX 2.01 550W PSU
I'm about to do an upgrade and I have an Opteron-165 coming to me right now. I don't do much heavy gaming, so I already decided on this GeForce 6600 for a PCI-E video card.

Now the big question is the motherboard.
The Opteron supposed to be famous for it's overclocking ability, something I'd like to utulize. My goal is to get it from the stock 1.8 Ghz to 2.4 or 2.5 ghz on stock voltage. (Numerous reviews say this is possible). I already know I will need to use dividers on my RAM and probably increase the voltage from 2.6 to 2.7 volts.
My PSU is the a 550 Rosewill which is said to be very capable from mostly all people who have owned it, as well as my personal experience (Mine's been doing great for half a year, and my friend has had his for several months too.) It's also dual-rail if this makes a big difference. Here's the newegg page.

Also, I can take one of the 3 hard drives out if I need to help conserve power.
I'm debating between either an ASUS, Gigabyte, or DFI board. DFI is said to be the best choice for overclocking, but also puts the most strain on a PSU from what I hear. I'm thinking a Gigabyte would work great, as long as the overclocking abilities are good enough. (I hear that they "aren't as good at OCing", but this is coming from more serious OCers. If it fits me needs, I'll get one). If not the Gigabyte, I'll probably go with an ASUS. My only worry is that some of their 939 models are said to have issues.
(bad chipset fan on A8N-SLI Deluxe for example).
So basically I'm looking for a stable mobo from one of these companies that will have the overclocking options I need and won't require a massive amount of power from the PSU.
Many thanks for helping me out.
