My friend has an ATX VA5 motherboard... he changed the dram frequency from 100 133 and the sdram timing from disenabled to enabled... now the computer won't boot, nothing shows up on the monitor
he tried reseting the cmos with the jumper, but he still can't boot....

anyone know what's wrong? please help, he really needs to get back on his computer!

The CMOS reset should solve it...

any other possibilities (removing battery, holding del during switching on, etc...)?

<< we tried taking out the battery >>

no offence intended but did you disconnect the power supply before you tried removing the battery?

I think bacillus is on the right track..but if not..try a new stick like amonline said.

If those tips don't work. We need more info. What does the comp do? Nothing, beeps, fire coming from the case (j/k)?

don't you have to reset cmos and wait a while for the capacitors to drain their energy? just unplug, takeout battery, and wait about a 1/2 hour, all i can think of.

Thats what i was about to say... and when you move the jumper to reset the bios you have to keep it off for a while not just switch, atleast with some mobo's... if all else fails, ill but the broke mobo off you just give me a PM.
