My husband is going to be the best man in a wedding this weekend. He has put off even thinking about what he is going to say in his toast. Does anyone have some general suggestions for him? It would be so appreciated;)

Ummm well make sure he writes it down and knows it. I would point out the good things from what he knows of this person, best wishes, etc... Not sure what else to say.

myputer - your husband should just say whatever he feels like saying at the time, it isn't exactly something that you would really prepare.... I'm sure that his friend made him his best man knowing that he would follow through and that he might know him well enough to not have to prepare :)

Nonetheless

Here are some points that he might want to touch on

1)How the friendship is (how long he's known the groom, etc, stories of their times together)
2)Talk about the wonderful occasion and what a great time everybody is having
3)Wish the couple the best of luck

Short, simple, effective :)

Some of the worst toasts I've had to listen to are the ones which are mini-novels. Short and from the heart is best. I love these people, we all wish them the best, she's a wonderful person, he's lucky to get such a good lay, etc.

Well, maybe not that last part. :)

Kranky - hehe, I thought that you had a typo there "LAY" instead of "LADY", then I read the last part ;)
