Need a Laptop

My only requirements is that it's got to be less than 12.5" wide (so I figure 12-14" diag) and it's got to have at least the graphics power of the 6600GT I've got in my desktop...which I think means discrete graphics.

That said there I'd really like AMD (they employ my best friend) graphics and processor.

Anything out there that meets this?

First off, Intel makes the best mobile processors at the moment, so most mobile solutions will be employing Intel chips.

If you don't mind my asking, what is dictating this 12.5" limitation, the bag that you will carry it in, your desk?

oh, and the Asus is too wide it looks like. He needs a 13.3" laptop in order to meet his width demands. There are four on Newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi...egory=32&description=&Ntk=&srchInDesc= that meet the requirements

I don't know if the 7400Go meets his GPU requirement. But in either case, the W7J and the A8Js are both fine choices.

Dell XPS M1210. It's a 12" and has 256MB of nVidia 7400 Go.

No that XPS has the Integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950. I think I'll go for the Asus, it's not perfect but it looks like one of only two options that fit my needs (the other is an overpriced Sony).

You can get a 7400 go in the M1210 once you go into the configuration options.

I'm not sure if the HGL-30 is less than 12.5 inches long (14in screen) but if it is its worth a look

Doesnt it make more sense to get the bag that fits the laptop unless this is a really expensive bag...

The 7400GO even with dedicated memory can't beat the 6600GT.

I think the 7700GO is going to be close competition with a 6600GT.
