Sorry to ask,
But I am on the boat and blow-up the transmitter, boat starts to sink and I need to take down the helocopter. How do I do that?
 
That level was tough.

I shot the helicopter so many times with missiles but the guy wouldn't die, had the ship sink out from under me too many times too.

What I ended up doing was park a humvee by the water before boarding the ship. Once I detonated the charge, i swam to the humvee and used the mounted gun to shoot down the chopper.
 
Bvllshit. This level is fvcking HARD! :| I've been trying to shoot that damn thing down for HOURS now.

I've tried:

a. Hiding a boat near the closest rocks - something blows the boat up as soon as you get the explosives...a damn mystery to me, since I made sure that the boat took ZERO damage when I had it!

b. Hiding a truck closest to the water - after you jump off the boat, you don't swim fast enough and you take a lot of damage when the boat blows up; you've got "this much" health left by the time you get to the truck

c. Running up to the top level of the boat right after it blows up to seek cover in the pilot house - you get a few shots in before the fcking boat sinks. Then as you're swimming, the chopper guns you down.


Shiit. Shitt. Shhit. :disgust: This game is absolutely beautiful. 🙂 Best game I've played....since Half Life. It's got the best of Sci Fi, FPS, etc. But damn it's hard. :Q

I guess I'm at the end. Too bad I can't beat it w/o cheating. I am not willing to cheat. If the boat wasn't sinking so fast, I could shoot the chopper down. Damn.
 
i hid by the really small boat beached to front of the boat you blow up. i crouched and hid there while the chopper would sway back and forth looking at me. had to get the timing right on my missiles though, that minigun hurts!
 
You can stay on the ship or head to one of the two little islands. I'd prefer the island without the shipwrecked boat. Keep a palm tree between you and the helicopter and take your time.

Thanks for the hints. The palm tree looks like my best bet, though I wish he swam faster; when the boat blows up, it kills my armor/shield completely.

It's GREAT to hear that the game is not over. I love this game!!! Wonder when they are coming out with FC II or expansion pack?
 
Well, I shot the chopper down. Hid in the pilot house on top of the boat. Five rockets and that's all she wrote for him! :evil:

Heh, now I'm in the jungle. I just made it into the temple...I forgot that those elite fvking monsters are invisible unless there's smoke or you have the night vision goggles on. I got my ass handed to me with the quickness. :Q I said "screw it." And took a break. Think I'll NEF for awhile. 😀
 
I didn't know it was possible to take down the chopper. I fired at it several times and got what looked like a direct hit, not easy either as it also dodges the RPG's pretty well, but finally got it to bug out leaving a smoke trail behind it. I was glad to get past that one.

My favorite level was blowing up the 3 transmitter towers. I get a kick out of the sniper rifle. I went from island to island, capping the mercs at 600 meters across the water from other islands. If they sold a game where all you had to do was lay low and snipe targets I would buy it. I have Hitman.... don't care much for it though.

Wow, we think a lot alike! MY favorite level so far was also the "tower level." I love that sniper rifle; too bad you only get five bullets at a time. :evil:

The chopper dodges those RPGs very well. :| It was MUCH easier killing it from the tower in boat than down on the little island b/c then the chopper was level with me, as opposed to above me. This next level is HARD. Damn invisible beasts!!!

if you jump off the side of the boat, swim to shore, crouch in a bush and shoot it the grenade launcher and bullets, the copter won't shoot back unless you hit it with the rocket launcher.

I just got kicked out of the chopper. Land in the jungle w/an M16 and 10 lousy bullets. :roll:

I can see some buildings on the other side...across the river, up a hill and such. But there are tens of monsters...big ones. :Q

I thought I'd have to stay in the river; tried that. Bad idea.

I tried the forest, but they run faster than you do. :roll:

I got lucky on that level with 10 machine gun bullets.. I just ran after I got about halfway and got lucky I guess cause the cutscene just started. Anyway the last level is insane.. absolutely no way.. im playing on realistic.. the rl guys are no problem just the snipers on the side god..
 
Wow. The "copter crash" level is EASY, actually. 😀

You dive off the waterfall, swim past the first few big guys, get up on LAND to the right, dive back into the water and swim towards the downed copter on the right. Easy from there.


AFTER THAT, however, when you get into the Volcano Lab is a bitch. :shocked: "You just killed their father...I hate to see how they take the news." :shocked:

Trust me, they take it very, very badly. :Q
