Need a HD receiver with DTS decoding

Going to get high definition tv through Bell, but it seems their receivers don't have DTS decoding. I require this because my WD TV outputs DTS but doesn't decode it, and thus there's no sound in a lot of files and I'm not keen on encoding them to AC3 all the time.

Is it possible to buy an aftermarket sort of receiver that'd work with bell's hd signal as well as decode DTS? I mailed Bell as well to ask them.

Is there a workaround, like a super cheap device that just decodes DTS that I could plug between the WD TV and the tv?

Damn you DTS!

HD receivers are actually a source device. They only receive satellite signals and therefore are not going to decode anything for you. You need a AV receiver of which there are a plethora of options if all you want is DTS decoding. You will need to invest in external speakers though.

Why are you listening to TV sound in the first place? Get a proper sound setup with receiver and speakers.
