Need a GPU... need suggestion

I have this rig. I just picked it up for my wife today. The PCI and PCI Ex1 slots are taken up right now by a NIC and Wireless Adapter. This leave me with the PCI Ex16 slot... I don't use the NIC, so whatever suggestion you've got, lay 'em on me.

My wife plays some games like Spore, Sims, C&C, etc. She HATES choppy graphics just like me, so I'm looking for something economical, preferably <$80 (possible?). I'm just way behind on the GPU knowledge as of late. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Lots of movies will be viewed... DVDs and the sort. We have a Gateway HD2201 monitor.

EDIT: Am I going to have to upgrade the power supply for this? Ugh... it's been 2 years since I paid any attention to this stuff.

A HD 4670 would fit well. Pretty powerful, quiet and cool, and will have no problem running off the stock PSU. Another option would be 4830, which you can get these days for only $5-15 more after rebates, but it requires a pci-e power connector, which will likely mean replacing your PSU

both good suggestions

The 4670 uses up to 70W which should be fine for your p/s.. It should run the games listed at 1680x1050 quite smoothly, though it would be more likely to run games poorly that she might get into playing down the road than the 4830. The 4830 does however require a 75w pci-e connector to be plugged in, and has a 110 watt tdp. If you have the connector, I think it would still work fine on that power supply but no guarantees.

Thanks guys for the help. The 4670 looks promising, and I'm not sure if my PSU has that connector. I"ll have to check it out when I get home.

I think my 4830 card came with a molex to PCIe power cable. If your PSU doesn't have a PCIe power cable you could use that.
