Need a good telephone number search website

I found a guy's wallet while walking in a parking lot towards work. Please direct me to a site that will have really good phone number search results.

the only really good ones require you to pay a fee for their service.

maybe you can just send him a letter, or if he's close to you, stop by his place with the wallet?

Is there a reverse search available? Like I enter the address and get the number that way?

there are such programs, but again, you'd have to pay, and i don't really know how the sign-up works, but i think you'd need to be in legal or law enforcement.

the only one i know and have used with a somewhat reliable reverse search function is really intended for fraud purposes only (i worked as a private eye quite recently, so i'm aware of a few). in my experience, however, most telephone numbers are never really up to date nowadays.

you can always try directory assistance (555-1212 in your area code) and they may be able to help.

very interesting. i'm unlisted, but it was able to get some information on myself from prior to 1999 -- and a phone number my parents got rid of in probably the mid 80s or early 90s (with an invalid area code, since we changed area codes in '94 or so).

Reverse Phone lookup

Reverse Address lookup

Many years ago I was biking home and my wallet fell out of my pocket. An honest person found it on the street and took it to the police station. The police then mailed it back to me.

 to honest people all around the world.

kudos:thumbsup:

I lost my cellphone couple of weeks ago while snowboarding and I belive someone found the phone. I called once it rang, called again it was shut off. The funny thing is my phone is a verizon phone, once I report it lost or stolen....its pretty much useless.

Why not turn the wallet in to the closest police station?

I found a wallet on the ground once with something like $50 in it. It had phone numbers in it...who's #, I don't know. But I turned it in to the local police station. I don't know about everyone else, but I don't want to take my chances trying to contact strangers. Let the cops sort it out I say.

Hey man, good job. That's really nice of you and it's cool to see someone using those personal information lookups for a good cause.

Glad you were able to contact him through the insurance, though.
