Need a good NB fan

well like topic says need a good active or inactive cooled chipset fan that will fit on the Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 Rev 2.0 Socket AM2 mobo. let me know what you guys can come up with as i have searched and found nothing.

Both bgmicro.com and allelectronics.com used to stock PIII heatsinks with really nice three wire 40mmx10mm fans for $3.50 each. Both have been OoS for a year. Do look at both sites for 40mm fans though. Buyextras.com carries several nice 40mm fans that might suit your needs. Look that interesting site over well.

I used to cut the PIII sinks and fit them to NB chips with thermal tape.

Don't laugh too hard. The fan used on the PIII has a tach feed wire and is of high quality.
Plus, its stainless steel mount can be rebent to work on just about any other sink.

Those PIII sink w/fan for $3.50 at allelectronics were brand new, I still have several here. It was a good deal. Mine are not for sale.

it is but i could fry an egg on the heatsink right now. i cant keep my finger on the top of it for more than 2 seconds without my hand bursting into flames lol. and yankee ima go check that out now. maybe put my dusty dremel to work

edit: do you have any pix of the ones you have already cut so i can get an idea of what you did?

Mount a 40-60mm on the NB using super glue. Should hold it well enough IMO and you'll see a drastic drop in temps.

that works too. and there is a nice sized piece that sticks out so it will fit a fan on there nicely. its a wonder how i didn't think of that lol. thanks guys.
