So im running Vista and basicly im getting BSOD. I need to back up all my files some how with out the pc crashing and going to BSOD again. Is there a way to somehow boot from a cd ( maby linux) and back everything up to a external hdd? What about all my programs too? Help and suggestions is appreciated. Thanks!
 
hmm, i cant build a ubcd because my pc just crashes in the process of making it. Is there a backup program on a ubuntu live cd?
 
i use SystemRescueCD. works great!
in the past, i used DriveImage XML, but it needs an OS from which to run. it can be installed on a seperate partition where you have XP, 2000 or Vista installed; or you can run it from inside BartPE.

both options are free.
