Need a good alternative for Gom Player

I just built my new Vista PC but upon trying to install Bioshock, I found out that Bioshock will not run on a system with Gom Player installed.

So if I want to play Bioshock I have to find an alternative to Gom, which is a shame because I really like Gom.

I need to find something that's free like Gom is and has the flexibility to find codecs like Gom does.
